Bobby Bag in Cream Lambskin worn by Kim Pinheiro
During Paris Fashion Week, Stylist and Consultant Tabatha Turner staged a fitting for Leather ’25 Edition 03 in her apartment overlooking the Sacré Cœur in the 18th Arrondissement. Tabatha crafted bespoke calico adornments to complement the range of pieces she pulled together, worn by Kim Pinheiro.
“Traditionally a working-class area of Paris, the apartment is in one building of three within Residence Andrézieux, separated by internal gardens filled with kids playing before and after school. The original build has been completely looked after, following the 1970's somber social-housing modernism aesthetic which counteracts the traditional Haussmann buildings surrounding it quite beautifully.
The apartments are big and bright, with mosaic tiling, wooden textures, and stainless steel. The complex has been the set for various french films documenting the development of the metro and train workers as the entire complex was built to house them.”
“The focus was on interesting textures when styling out this collection. The 18th neighbourhood is most commonly known as the area of fabric warehouses and factories such as Marché Saint-Pierre and Tissus Reine, so it felt fitting to use a simple toile calico to compliment the pieces and add a touch of modernity.
Calico being the first initial fabric a designer creates a sample out of, it is extremely cheap to purchase and easy to manipulate. The rawness of it feels nice against the stark architecture, and seemed fitting with the idea that the building was originally built for working-class housing. Everything must be linked for me, everything must tell a story.
I tore up sheets and let them fray out—creating an oversized pom-pom broach adornment, shoe covers, and a belt to bring in the trench. I am not scared of messiness in a pre-style and largely think this is where the most beauty lies. All clothing is archival vintage from Pre-Clothed in the 6th—focusing on dramatic proportions and colouring to compliment each bag style.”
